APA/WHO ICF Manual Project Presented at International Meeting

The American Psychological Association has been spear-heading efforts to develop a clinician's manual for the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health in order to faciliate implementation efforts within the United States and other English speaking countries. Geoffrey Reed, PhD, Assistant Executive Director of Professional Development was invited to speak at the international meeting in Cologne, Germany in October 2003. Dr. Reed's presentation was well attended and generally well received. He described the goals of the manual, the rationale for its creation, results of recent consensus conference field trials and the need to develop additional content and continue with individual field trials.
